The Jefferson Church in Jefferson, Georgia has a history steeped in tradition. Starting in the 1930s, the church originally held services in the basement of a local mill where it was known as the “mill church.” The church later built its own building and continued to serve this local “mill” community.

In 2016, under the leadership of Senior Pastors Nick and Channe’l Dalton, the church was renamed as The Jefferson Church. With the Daltons’ leadership and God’s providence, the church grew from just a few hundred people to multiple services and a need for new space.

In June of 2021, the story of the Jefferson Church returned to its roots as the Church purchased the very cotton mill where the church was founded in the 1930s. Because of the relationship they established with Pastor Nick and his team, dB Integrations was the first choice when discussions around the audio and video needs in a new sanctuary.

Coming alongside The Jefferson Church and its team led by Worship Pastor Cohen Whittington, the two teams dreamed together what could be possible in this new space.

“We wanted to create a worship environment that created as few distractions as possible,” said Whittington.

“This is an old warehouse with concrete floors, hard walls, and a number of acoustical challenges,” said Cooper Hedden, southeast regional sales manager at Danley Sound Labs. “While that can be a challenge, Danley products are great in these environments because of pattern control. We can focus the energy on the people which minimizes the issues caused by the materials in the room.”

With a focus on excellence and creating the perfect environment for contemporary worship, the experience encompassed every aspect from on-campus interaction to online engagement.

“We did everything from the lighting to production cameras, audio and lighting in the main auditorium, the lobbies, and the production room,” said Jeremy Clark, operations manager at dB Integrations.

The main auditorium is equipped with three Danley Sound Labs J7-95 loudspeakers as the primary system, supplemented by SH95HO and SH95 units for fills, along with four BC215 subwoofers. The system is powered by Danley DNA-20K4 and DNA-10K4 amplifiers and managed by a Danley DNA-SC48 digital signal processor.

While the equipment chosen is important, Pastor Nick doesn’t believe it tells the whole story.

“From the ground level, with sound, lighting, and video, dB has been here as a partner,” said Senior Pastor Nick Dalton. “They understand ministry and how churches work so well, it made everything much easier. At the end of the day, it’s about relationships with people. Equipment is equipment. The people that do the work are those that make the real difference.”
