New Technology from Danley Sound Labs Allows Point to Point Wireless Uncompressed Audio

“What Wireless Link does is see what RF channels are already occupied or in use and it works around those,” said Bill Johnson, head of engineering at Danley Sound Labs. “If something does appear, the Wireless Link System will shift seamlessly to another channel. This prevents channel interference and ensures the signal remains clear even where the environment may be crowded with Wi-Fi signals. And unlike other AV over IP systems this doesn’t need a network to operate.”

“Wireless Link System, or WLS, allows us to deliver high-quality audio wirelessly at long distances and be a better steward,” said Hedden. “In some cases, infrastructure costs can cost as much if not more than the entire installation just in trenching and high gauge cabling. Plus, with the popularity of turf fields, integrators won’t be allowed to trench under it anyway, so they have to trench around the field. WLS is a great solution to go from press box to pole-mounted speaker with no compromise in performance.”

The Wireless Link System is available now and with two options from transmission as well as receiving.

The WLS-TX1 rack-mounted transmitter can send one (1) mono balanced signal to up to four (4) receivers or the WLS-TX4 rack-mounted transmitter can send four (4) mono balanced audio signals up to sixteen (16) receivers.

On the receiving end, Danley offers the WLS-RX1 which can receive up to one (10 mono audio signal or Danley’s latest weatherized outdoor amplifier, the OS-PWR, can also be outfitted with an internally mounted receiver.

The WLS is now available for purchase from Danley Sound Labs authorized dealers.
